About this tool
Converting JPG to BMP creates an uncompressed bitmap for older software, embedded devices and tools that only read BMP.
JPG (JPEG) is the universal photo format: every phone, computer, browser and app can open it. It uses lossy compression, which keeps photos small, but it has no transparency.
BMP (bitmap) is an old Windows format that stores pixels uncompressed. It opens in virtually every program, including very old software and some hardware devices, but files are very large.
BMP is lossless, so there's no quality setting — every pixel of the JPG is kept.
