About this tool
TIFF files from scanners and cameras are large and won't display on websites. Converting TIFF to JPG makes them small enough to email, upload or share.
TIFF is a lossless format used for scanning, printing and professional photo work. It keeps full quality, but files are large and web browsers, websites and most upload forms don't display it.
JPG (JPEG) is the universal photo format: every phone, computer, browser and app can open it. It uses lossy compression, which keeps photos small, but it has no transparency.
The quality slider controls the JPG compression: 80–90 keeps the image visually identical, lower values make smaller files.

Can I convert multiple TIFF files to JPG at once?

Will converting TIFF to JPG reduce quality?
JPG is a lossy format, but at quality 80–90 the difference isn't visible. Use a higher setting if you plan to edit the image further.
What happens to the photo's metadata (EXIF, GPS location)?
The new file is encoded from the image pixels only, so camera details and GPS location stored in the original are not copied over. The photo is rotated correctly before that, so it won't come out sideways.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. The image is decoded, processed and re-encoded entirely inside your browser using WebAssembly. Nothing is sent to us or anyone else, which also makes it fast — there is no upload or download wait.
